Rosalind Simpson, harp


    Harpist Rosalind Simpson has toured extensively throughout the Southwest as a recital artist and as a participant in the educational programs of New Mexico Arts, the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission and the Arizona Commission on the Arts. She has played with the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Serenata of Santa Fe, and the San Juan, El Paso, Las Cruces and New Mexico Symphonies, as well as several seasons with the Music in the Mountains Festival in Colorado.
    Prior to moving to the US, Simpson held professional appointments in Belgium, Switzerland and her native South Africa. She received the Premier Prix in both harp and chamber music, and the Diplome Superieur in harp from the Brussels Conservatoire. She also holds a Bachelor of Music (Hons.) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and the Teacher’s Licentiate in piano from the Trinity School of Music, London.
    Simpson’s recent appearances have included the Telluride and Animas Music Festivals and the World Harp Congress in Amsterdam, Holland.
